18 Weeks and Little One Love

18 weeks today!
Wowzers.
This pregnancy is going by so much quicker than the first.
I'm assuming a big part of that is having Elijah around.
He keeps me busy and always enjoying my time in the present.
He is absolutely hilarious
with an mind and imagination of his own.
He knows what he wants and when he wants it.
His attention span is still limited
and we bounce all day from
playing with blocks to painting;
then on to playing trains then coloring;
next play-doh and then snack.
Whew.
Every day it's something else.
It's a job to keep up with him.
But I so enjoy watching him embrace his independence.
He can't make all his own decisions
so I try and give him the freedom for the things he can.

I am so grateful to be home now and be able to somewhat sleep in.
Adam gets up and goes to work and I stay in bed.
When Elijah wakes up
he comes into my room,
climbs on the bed,
and wakes me up with sweet kisses.
Well, Saturday he came in and woke us up
stating that he was ready to eat breakfast.
Off the bed and away he went.
I hear him go into the kitchen so I get up to follow.
And guess what my little one decided to have for breakfast?
Yup. Oreos.
Within the 30 seconds it took me to get there
he had managed to devour a cookie
and his face bore the evidence
with chocolate all over it.
What could I do but laugh.

A favorite new Elijah-ism I'm loving these days
is his "thinking face".
If I ask him a question he has to think about,
he taps his finger to his cheek and says,
"hmmm."
It's the cutest thing ever.

We went over and saw Shelbie and Emery last week
and Elijah wanted to hold the baby.
So he came and sat on the chair with me
and Shelbie brought her over.
She placed her in our arms,
Elijah looked down at her and said,
"done."
And that was it.
:)
He talks about his M&M all day
but he doesn't quite understand that she's just a baby.
He's always had a hard time understanding
why he can't do things any other kid or person can.
I don't think he understands that a baby
can't even do the things that he can.
He is very sweet with her though
and at one point tried to take her outside with him.

Another new favorite thing Elijah likes to do is "cook".
By cook I mean press the buttons on the microwave.
He gets a really big kick out of it.
No longer are Adam or I allowed to put anything
in the microwave without having
Elijah press the buttons.

In baby #2 news...
As I mentioned we're 18 weeks today!
2 weeks until we find out if it's a boy or girl.
Crazy that we're almost half way there.
Although we haven't officially scheduled our C-section,
the Dr said it will most likely be March 29.
That means 5 months from tomorrow!

I'm feeling the baby move now
but it's nothing consistent
and not strong enough for Adam to feel yet.
I still love feeling those small reminders
that our baby is growing and will be here in no time.

That's all the new news from our family.
We're staying very busy getting ready
for Elijah's birthday party
(he'll be TWO next weekend!)
and beginning the transformation
of the office to a nursery
(SO very much to do!).

Here are some pics to enjoy :)

Another new thing E loves doing,
making his own peanut butter sandwiches.

Play-Doh!

Welcome Emery Alison Shave

Beautiful Emery Alison Shave
was born last night to our great friends,
Shelbie, Jason and Destiny.
We are bursting with excitement and love for this little one
and her family.
She is beautiful and sweet;
everything you expect and more.

I took Elijah to meet her this morning,
and he's already tagged her with a nickname...
M&M :)

Shelbie, I love you and am so proud and happy for you.
You and your girls are such a blessing to us.
Keep up the good work..
you make pretty babies.

God is so good.

Happy Fall-ish!

I am so thrilled that October is here and is attempting to bring fall along with it.
Last week we had a few absolutely beautiful days.
This week we're back to being hot.
Boo.

We did attempt to get in the fall spirit this weekend
by visiting the pumpkin patch.

They had cute little ones,
just perfect for his size.
Of course, his interest in them faded quickly
and he was on to find bigger ones!

This was Elijah's favorite pumpkin.
Not sure why.
It wasn't the biggest and it was off away from all the others.
But he just kept running back to it!

Elijah picked this pumpkin out
by himself.

This weekend we also had some picture taking in the backyard
so that I could order our Christmas cards.
Don't give me that look.
I know it's early, but:
1. I LOVE Christmas and enjoy doing what I can early.
2. SUPER good discounts for ordering early.
We're a one income family now and need all the savings we can get!

Normally we would have Shelbie come over and take family photos for us,
however, she is on doctor orders to stay off her feet
and keep baby Shave baking for as long as possible.
We sure did miss her but captured a few cute ones.

Our Loves: Basketball and 4 Wheelers

Hard to believe one month from tomorrow
our little one will be 2 years old!
I guess it should be believable
as in six months he won't be our
"little one" anymore!

Every day the weather is getting more enjoyable here in
sunny (hot) Florida.
This is very good news as we spend quite a bit of time
outside during the day.

We're in my second week of staying home with Elijah
and I'm loving it more and more every day.
We spend our days coloring, painting,
molding with play-doh, walking, singing, dancing,
running, reading, collecting rocks, playing with Daisy,
building blocks...
Whew! You name it.
We have the house cleaned and
dinner made when Adam gets home.
The weekend was not filled with cleaning
and laundry and all the tons of other household
tasks that they are usually spent doing since
I can spread them out during the week.
Instead, we got to play outside and enjoy family time.

He's getting so grown up!

Loves, loves, loves basketball.

This was him getting really annoyed with all my picture taking.

At Adam's company picnic. Again, basketball.

Pina Colada (flavored) ice cream. Yum!

Even got Daddy out there with him.

Riding on his 4 wheeler. His new favorite thing to do.
Also, another "done with the pictures Mom" look.

The closest thing I've taken this time around to a "belly" shot.
It's there.
