34 weeks, 5 days

And the award for worst weekly blogger
and photo-a-day keeper upper goes to...
me.

I keep thinking that if I don't blog for a while,
I'll come back and it'll be,
"Wow! Where has the time gone? Time for Reese to be born."
But not so much.
Here we are, almost 35 weeks,
and although it's been nearly THREE WEEKS
since my last post,
it seems like no time has gone by.
Waiting for a baby is hard work.

In baby sister news...
I went to the Dr last week and Reese was measuring 32 weeks,
only 2 weeks small.
Given the track she was on,
(measure 1 week small, then 2, then 2 1/2)
I was super thrilled that she had grown a bit.
Now would be the time the doc would have me start coming in every week,
but since we're having a scheduled c-section I get to resume
my 2 week schedule.
I'm liking this.
I have been staying very busy making stuff for Reese.
The past week I made her nearly a dozen burp rags
(plus two baby shower gifts)
and finished her butterfly mobile.
Pics are to come
(I've actually taken some, just haven't uploaded).
Still working on her blanket and I bought the fabric for her curtains
but haven't even started with those.
We're going to start putting her room together this weekend
(after my baby shower Saturday!)

Speaking of,
just want to give a HUGE thank you in advance
to my sweet, sweet friends Jen and Shelbie for my shower.
Shelbie and I have thrown showers for each other for each of our babes
(4 total now),
& for some pregnancy hormone induced reason,
I get a bit sentimental about that.
Jen and I threw Shelbie's shower together in September,
and she is one of the most genius, creative people ever.
Ever.
Add to that her insanely warm and fun personality
and it makes her a friend-favorite.
I'm telling you,
you don't want to have a party without these girls.

And onto my favorite little man updates:
Elijah is...
Elijah.
He cracks me up every day.
I mean, we're talking bust out laughing moments.
Daily.
Shelbie and m&m came over today
and it was so good to have someone else there during
one of E's "moments".
Now, she's experienced lots of these "moments" herself with him
(and her hilarious wild child of her own).
Today she brought me over a sesame seed bagel,
and although I knew he wouldn't like it,
Elijah wanted a bite.
He instantly sticks his tongue out and tries to spit it all off his tongue.
He concludes by saying,
"Mmm. Taste good."
Sure. That's what we all do when something taste good.

He did start coming down with a cold last week,
but thankfully we got to the Dr before it really came on
so he was able to get on antibiotics before
the ear infection (which the Dr said was starting).
Whew.
Love, love, love when we can save E from an EI.

Otherwise, Elijah is pretty much doing the same.
Each day is spent:
Saying/doing something hilarious
Learning everything about everything that he can
Singing, dancing, running, playing
He is absolutely wonderful.
He's started singing his ABC's,
but he really only sings the end
so it usually goes,
"R, S, T, W, X, Y, Z,
R, S, T, W, X, Y, Z"
and then he eventually adds some 2 year old phrase of
"Now I know ABCs, next time sing with me".
It's great.
(and yes, I know he's also missing U & V.
I promise we include those letters when we sing it!)

Well, I suppose I've rambled on enough.
Time for my PADs
(what I have of them anyway!)

32 Weeks

Sorry for the miss last week.
I have no excuse,
well, really I have plenty of excuses
but it all comes down to I just didn't do it.
Obviously, lots of pics and updates this time around.
Lets start with our PADs!

Jan 21:
The day of the infamous haircut.
I tried to do it myself, but I would only cut the front.
I was too nervous to cut the sides and back.
When I was done, Adam said he looked like a girl.
So he took him to get it fixed and it came back SO SUPER SHORT!
I miss his shaggy do,
but he's still such a cutie :)

Jan 22:
Play date at Aiden's house!
The boys are super cute together
although it usually takes them til the end of the time
to actually sit together and play.
Still, it's worth the wait for adorable photo ops like this.

Jan 23:

Jan 24:
Helping Mommy make a cake
to celebrate him pooping on the potty!

Jan 25:
My friend Amy took us out for frozen yogurt.
Thanks Amy!
And thanks for still being my friend after my child fully expressed his two-year-old-ness.
You're awesome :)

Jan 26:
I told him he looked like he had a beard.
He said,
"No Mommy. I'm a baby doctor."
And then proceeded to come over, pull my shirt up and try to listen to baby sister.

Jan 27:
This smile is almost too much for me.

Jan 28:
We were so excited when E didn't come in to wake us until 7:30 one morning.
And in such a good mood to boot.
Then I looked at him, noticed the chocolate all over his face & we found this in the kitchen.

There were more wrappers on the floor
(including some that were partially eaten).
And of course,
the face.

Jan 30:
My favorites.

Jan 31:
We had gone & had lunch with Nana at the club last week
where a couple of the guys let him hit some balls in the golf shop.
Here he is practicing what he learned.

Feb 1:
He is very excited that his little sister's room is set up.
I found him like this one day.
When it was his, we couldn't keep him in,
now we can't get him out!

Feb 2:
My boy.

I am so deeply in love with this little boy
and am enjoying our time just the two of us so much.
Yes, we have our rough moments
when he is every little bit two years old
and I am every little bit an exhausted pregnant mother of a two year old.
But we always get through it and in the end are happier and closer.
Since my memory is terrible,
I apologize if I repeat some stories here
as I can't remember if things happened a month ago,
a week ago, or yesterday.

Here are some highlights lately:
-E pooped on the potty. Twice. But not since then. At least it's a start!
-He has learned his last name. And is oh-so-very cute when he says it.
-Some other favorite words/phrases: octopus, cactus (he really entertained with this one at church last week), gracious (as in, "goodness gracious child"), chicken nuggets and Pricklepants (a character in Toy Story 3).
-He is my helper in everything. I mean everything. I can't do anything without him trying to help. This includes the dishes, laundry, vacuuming, making the beds, clearing the dinner table, taking care of Daisy and going to the bathroom. Oh yes. I am unable to do anything alone.
-He is all about reading and especially loves look and find books.
-He loves, loves, loves to sing songs. Our current favorites: I'm a little tea pot (or as E says, "Pea Top"), Rock-a-bye baby (he says he's going to sing it to his sister), patty-cake and the ABC's.
-He wants to wear the same thing every day. His sweatshirt with fire trucks and dogs. Every day is a battle when I explain that the shirt is dirty. I don't know what he's going to do once it's too hot for it.

He really is just so fantastic and has been ultra-lovey lately.
If he gets in trouble, he has to get a hug before he gets over it.
He'll just cry out "Mommy hug me!" when he goes to time out.
How can I resist?
Today, he came over and gave me Eskimo kisses.
Out of the blue.
For no reason.
It made me melt.

Although I am BEYOND excited about our little Reese on the way,
a part of me is really going to miss it being just the two of us.
I know he's going to be a great big brother,
and our days will only get better.
I'll look back and wonder what we did all day before she came along
(good thing I'll this blog to remind me).

And as for our little sister,
she is doing great :)
Went today for our 32 week check up
(after my appt in two weeks we'll be going every week -
the time's getting close!)
her heartbeat was strong
and she's measuring 29 1/2 weeks.
Still small, but she's growing so they're not worried.
We're just going to have a small little love bug in a couple months!

Here are a couple bonus pictures of E with his Daisy girl.
He loves her.
& he loves to dress her up.
She's such a trooper.
