A Month in Photos

One Month

Dear Reese,
Where, oh where, did this month go? You must have ate it. You do that a lot. Eat that is. When we took you to the doctor at 2 1/2 weeks you had already surpassed your birth weight by an entire pound. You still like to sleep a lot but are having many more periods of wake time. Especially at night. :) We get some good bonding time in between 3 and 5 am. I watch Home Improvement reruns and you work on your toots. Daddy is usually out on the couch at that point and we have the room to ourselves. It may sound crazy but I do enjoy that time with you. We've learned the past few weeks that you really are a cuddle bug. You like to be held close and especially love walks in your sling. Your eyes are getting bluer but your hair is still dark so far. I'm hoping you inherit at least one trait from your momma. You are an amazing daughter and little sister already. Just don't grow up so fast please.
I love you bug.

Dear Elijah,
Boy-oh-boy. What a month for you. First you gained a new sister. Then you were diagnosed with allergies, double ear infections, on multiple medications and to top it off, you sprained your wrist this weekend with a possible hairline fracture. And yet, through it all you have remained a relatively happy, wonderful kid. Don't get me wrong, you've had your moments, but overall you have handled everything that's been thrown at you this month with a happy attitude. A challenge for anyone, let alone a two year old. I sincerely admire you for that. Although you've had a couple episodes of "I don't like my sister. Take her back to the hospital.", you really enjoy having Reese around. You can't give her enough hugs or cuddles and have recently started helping giving her bath and changing her. As soon as you hear her cry you're there, ready to give her a binky or cover her with a blanket. Keep up the good work, you're setting an awesome example.
Love you kid.
