Pics!

Wow. I have been DRASTICALLY slacking in the
Posting of Photos department.
Let's start with some pics Shelbie took.
Some are from when my mom was here
(you know, like a month and a half ago!)
and some when Reese was 6 weeks.

Dear Offspring, May edition

Dear Reese,My little bug. You get more beautiful and more adored each day. And you are smiling more each day. Each smile brings more joy to your momma, daddy and brother than anything else! You smile when Daddy tickles your belly & when I smile at you. You just started trying to make sounds and especially work on repeating "Ah-ooo" when I say it to you. Although you're only two months old, you practice an enormous amount of patience. Elijah loves you to pieces and is always in your face (I'm trying to teach him personal space but unfortunately for you, he hasn't grasped the concept). You put up with it for longer than I would expect. You've inherited another similar trait of Elijah's: that of wanting to be held ALL the time. If only I could spend all of my waking hours holding my babies... what a life it would be. :) Every day you remind me just how wonderful my little life is.
I love you bug.

Reese, at two months you are...
9 lbs 6 oz
21 1/2 inches long
Your eyes are a darkish blue (but lighter than when you were born)
Your hair is brown, & your eyebrows are getting darker. Perhaps you'll be a brunette like Momma :)
You do not like laying down. Not on your tummy, not on your back.
You don't mind taking a bath but loath after bath activities of lotion and pajamas.
You sleep MUCH better when swaddled, even if you get out of it.
If you do not have on a clean diaper, you are not a happy baby.
You liked to be called "pretty girl".
You burp better when your back is rubbed, not patted.
When you're really tired, you'll rub your face back & forth in daddy's chest.
You don't like it when we sit down when holding you (your brother is still the same way!)
You are loved, loved, loved.

Dear Elijah,
My silly duck. What an AMAZING little boy you are. You are ridiculously intelligent and so very hilarious. My time with you is anything but boring. You are my favorite person to have a conversation with (good thing because you're usually the only person to have one with :). You love to help out and love on your sister. She was on the couch the other day in her pillow and I looked out and you had sat next to her and pulled her into your lap. It was so sweet intentioned that I felt bad having to tell you that it was NOT OK to try and hold Reese by yourself. I know that you just want to love her, you just don't realize what a baby really is. You are finally ready to be potty trained (hallelujah!) and what an experience that is turning out to be. You love to read books and are really into Eric Carle right now. You don't believe me when I tell you what an iguana or chameleon are. "No, Mommy. That's a lizard." you tell me. Yes babe, I know it's a lizard but these are their lizard names. Nope. A transformer blew in the neighborhood the other day after the shuttle launched and caused a pop sound and our power to flicker off for a minute. You were convinced that it was caused by the shuttle and had to tell EVERYONE you talked to or saw that day about it. You remember EVERYTHING. I love seeing what each day will hold for us.
I love you kid.

Hide & Seek

One of Elijah's favorite games to play is hide & seek. It's pretty hilarious because he always hides where ever he finds me and then tells me to hide again in that same spot (which I never do :). Today he was at the door counting and although he can usually count to 13 in a breeze, here's what I hear...
"1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 11-teen, 16... ready or not, I come find you!"
Love him.
