Sweet Child of Mine
Tonight was, hands down, one of my favorite nights being a mom. After dinner (mac n' cheese of course) Elijah and I were playing in the living room and E found his Mickey Mouse. He was so excited and grabbed it to take with him around the house. Watching him I see he keeps putting his mouth around MM's nose (little E's way of giving kisses). I call him over to give me kisses and guess what? HE DOES! It was the sweetest, lovliest, wettest thing ever :) For the next hour Adam and I called him back and forth to give us kisses. Definately my #37. As I continued to watch him play I realized that he grew up today. I'm not sure what happened but sometime between yesterday and tonight, he turned into a real little person. So here's my #36. Elijah has a small bouncy ball (you know those HUGE ones they have at the stores that you can't fit your arms around? Well, like that but only much smaller.) He took that ball and threw it up and down the hall. Here's the "kicker"... sometimes he would walk up to the ball and accidentally kick it before he could pick it up. At first it was by mistake but then it turned into a game. He would kick or throw the ball and then clap and smile. Then he got real adventurous and attempted to pick up and hold the ball with one hand. To my surprise, he did! Just watching him learn something right in front of my eyes was the most amazing thing to see. To finish off my list for tonight #35. Elijah loves positive attention. Tonight while he was playing, whenever he would drop the ball he was clap at himself, then look over to make sure I was clapping with him. If I wasn't he would clap at me until I joined in. Once I did he would grow a huge smile and do it again. His smile is infectious and it's as if he knows it. He wants people to be happy with him. He enjoys seeing others happy. Again, such sweetness.
