'ello 2012!
We're starting off 2012 with a bucket full of fun... and sickness... but we'll focus on the fun :) I saw a thing on Pintrest where you take index cards and write the month and day on each one and put then in a box. Then, on that day you write down what (if anything) memorable that happened. You would do this every day for the year and then the next year start over with the same cards. This way you'd be able to look back and see what happened on a particular day for years and years. I thought it looked crazy cool. I'm a calendar LOVER. I write everything down on the calendar and am always a little hesitant to throw it away at the end of the year so this idea was made for me. I got out my stack of index cards and wrote the dates for all of January, determined to find a cute box to hold them in. Then I started thinking about some of the other things I wanted to accomplish this year. One, I desperately need to be more organized. I love organization and do not intentionally create chaos in the house, but with two pack rats and two kids, stuff just accumulates everywhere. I want to try and minimize it. Unfortunately, my want to keep this box around forever and ever with index cards kind of conflicts with my want to minimize the amount of crapola around. That brought me to another goal for the year: blog more. And viola, a decision was reached. I'll blog about each day. Something short just capturing what happened and label it with the date. Then, in years, I can pull up all my blogs about Jan 1 and see all the exciting things that happened. It will be my virtual version of the index card box. We will call it... hmm... something cute... something clever... I'll think of something. For now, it will be my blog-not-a-box-daily-event-capturer.
